lyrics

Stop the tape. There’s nothing left to say.
I’m not going to play your game. I’m dropping out today.
I watched you have your day, but it’s time for another way.
If you didn’t like what I had to say, all you had to do was walk away.
Lay to rest the tyrants who hold onto you.
Take arms at once and at dawn, we rendezvous.
A life without meaning keeps incessantly needing with no longer a reason to ease into.

Let me reason with you. What harm does it do?
If our time is through, what do I owe to you?
You fracture yourself just to find something new.
Then you cover yourself in the blood that you drew.

Self inflicted, self-fulfilling, self-addicted and self-killing.
Thoughts suspended in circumstantial isms, soft fictions, contradictions, lost admissions of strange perversions, repressed urges, and crossed versions.
Double-dealing, never healing, you’re unknowing and yet unyielding.

The sky was grey when I was young. For long years, there was no sun.
I crawled around on the ground. I admit it was fun.
But today I am a man and I make my way.
I must clear out a path and claim what ground I may.
For the now I am blessed with blue skies today, but I will not forget back when due times were grey.
So though I understand, sadly I must demand our allegiance disband and depart from this land.
When nature brings change through the staggering strange, howsoever deranged, it is of my own brand.
