lyrics

Sun won’t come out tomorrow. No sleep tonight.
Devil sits on a cold porch swing and keeps a watchful eye.
I don’t pack my suitcase. I ain’t got no kids to kiss goodnight.
I’m the one that stayed behind and waited for my fight.
I am the one that you want. I’ve got nothing to lose.
Give me your pain so I can give it a use.
You stand for me, then I stand for you;
But you threaten me, your gonna feel my blues.
Where I came from, for some dumb reason, they say stand up for what you believe in.
Then, I was given what I was to believe and it just didn’t fly with me.
So, I reasoned it through and figured it out and tried all my life just to get the word out.
Then, one day, in the dark synthesis of my dreams;
I shed a light on the shadow of the pyramid scheme.
And, the sky started falling, but the book had been written;
And, all of god’s children were smitten and bitten.
So, I picked up my ego and strung it up tight.
And, hoped it would be enough to get through the night.
And, I poised my head and drew my line.
And, waited there for the end of time.
And, the hours that passed in my time there;
Made me understand the reason why I care.
If everything has to end, what do I still defend?
Here on the line I made, I have been and I will stay.
And, you can piss upon my grave; just bury me right here.
This place is my home and I have no fear.
All of my life is adding up to this fight.
I’m gonna be a part of this with all of my might.
I am the one that you want. I got nothing to lose.
Give me your pain so I can give it a use.
You stand for me then I stand for you
But you threaten me your gonna feel my blues.
